Éire sa Nuachtscannán, a six-part television series for TG4, is a collaboration between Mac Dara Ó Curraidhín (LM DÓC) and Ciara Chambers (University College Cork).
Mac Dara Ó Curraidhín is an independent award-winning producer and director of documentaries since 1996. He is the Managing Director of Léirithe le Mac Dara Ó Curraidhín (LMDÓC). LMDÓC was established in 2003 and specialises in documentary film-making.
Dr Ciara Chambers is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Film and Screen Media at University College Cork. Author of Outsider Cinema: Independent and Amateur Filmmaking in Northern Ireland, 1929-1989 (Edinburgh University Press, 2026), Ireland in the Newsreels (Irish Academic Press, 2012) and co-editor of Researching Newsreels (Palgrave, 2018). She is President of the International Association for Media & History a board member of Northern Ireland Screen and Chair of the Northern Ireland Moving Image Heritage and Archive Working Group. She is also an advisor to Atticus Education, the digital education company established by Oscar-winning film producer Lord David Puttnam. She is currently working on the awardwinning Make Film History project and was producer of the historical play Souls, Shadows and Secrets. Her research interests include archives, newsreels and amateur film and she is a member of the consultative board of Alphaville: Journal of Film and Screen Media.
